| Does anyone know of a set of drain tubes that fit DIRECTLY on these turbos. I'm hoping to accomplish a high quality CLEAN build for my motor. What can i say? Me and the guys that are working on my car have a healthy attention to detail. We are not comfortable with the suggested "set-up" of these turbos. The instructions to butcher the original OEM flanges by slotting them and the gaskets are ubsurd. $2800 for turbos, and i get to "rig" my OEM oil drain tubes is bull shit. Hell, somebody pass the duct tape and the JB Weld. I'm OK if they arent included with the turbos. But JWT doesnt even offer a correct fitting set that i'm willing to purchace!!!!! How hard would it be to manufacture a set of these tubes to match THEIR design? I guess thats why you pay so much more for HKS and GREDDY. Don't get me wrong, the words "this item is a DIRRECT BOLT ON" is always suspect when your intering the world of modifying a car. I got these turbos because i wanted to avoid the headaches associated with other turbo set-ups.(ie. shaving the block or cutting into the motor mounts). We're willing to hack up the OEM drain tubes and make them fit if we have to but it is going against our philosophy of "do it right the first time" So before we break out the Dremmel and the exacto-knife for a CLEARLY sub-par 20 minute "rigged" solution. Does anyone make the propper fitting tubes? Below is the actual installation instructions for the oil drain tubes as per Jim Wolf, i spoke to the tech at JWT also: "The original 300ZX oil drain tubes and gaskets must have the bolt holes slotted to fit the new ball bearing format bolt pattern."
Gotta....Have....More.....Boost!!!!!! OMG that feels sooooo good! |
